The BEST Pretzel Recipe

This time of the year, I have a tradition to make home made pretzels (with all kinds of different mustards and dipping sauces), and taste all the different pumpkin beers that come out. It's so fun to get together and have everyone make their own pretzels in the kitchen. It's even more fun to see how they all come out. Prettiest pretzel contest?! I might be a just a little bit competitive.

Frozen yeast dough, thawed
1 egg, whisked in a small dish
Course salt

1. Thaw the frozen yeast dough. Preheat oven to 475 degrees.
2. With floured hands, roll dough into 18 inch length. Taking the two ends, place on a center on a floured bread board or counter top. Pull ends towards you, cross ends and overlap to opposite sides to form pretzel shape.
3. Let rise 20 minutes on floured board.
4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Reduce the heat. Used a slotted spoon or skimmer to gently lower the pretzels into the water, about 2 at a time depending on how big your pot is. Once the pretzels are in they should float to the top. Let them sit for 1 minute and then flip over to boil another minute. (extend the boil time to 2 minutes each side if you prefer a chewier pretzel).
5. Once you take the pretzels out, top with egg wash and course salt.
6. Once all pretzels have been boiled, transfer them to a lightly oiled baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Caramel Apples

Here's the EASIEST caramel apple recipe you will ever use. You can use whatever toppings you want. I love crushed up Snickers and Reeces candy bars, although this time I tired something a little different and used crushed up Harry and David Moose Munch! They have a new Cinnabon flavor right now, and it is delicious!! Not overly sweet, creamy caramel, Cinnabon cinnamon, and topped with white chocolate drizzle!
Right now, if you head over to my Instagram you can enter for a chance to win a 3 month Moose Munch subscription!

8 apples
4 bags soft caramels
3 tablespoons heavy cream
Assorted toppings
8 sticks

1. Wash apples thoroughly, and let dry. The drier the apples are, the more the caramel will stick to them and not slide off.
2. While apples are drying, unwrap caramels and place them in a medium saucepan. When ready, set stove top to medium low heat. Add heavy cream, and cook the caramels stirring occasionally until they melt and the mixture has a smooth consistency. Reduce the heat to low.
3. Dip each of the apples into the caramel mixture. Let drip and scrape off any caramel on the bottoms of the apples. Roll in preferred toppings and place on a lined baking sheet to set. You can place in the refrigerator to firm the caramel quicker.

It's Sweater Weather

About a month ago, I began my hunt for the perfect turtleneck sweater. After searching on ShopStyle day after day after day, I FINALLY found the best beige colored, perfectly tailored, turtleneck but not long turtleneck, turtleneck sweater on Nordstom. I so excitingly clicked on the photo and there it was.. the price. Disappointment flooded over me and I was back to square one. The perfect turtleneck sweater was only $695.
I don't know why but I have this very special gift. I can pick out the most expensive item without even looking at the price tag. I'm just drawn to the great quality fabric I guess. It's both a blessing and a curse! Haha!
So, since I have been trying so hard to up my sweater game for Fall, below are some of my favorites in all price points!

H&M Sweater {$30} // Rag & Bone Jeans {$190} // Urban Outfitters Panama Hat {$39} // Vince Camuto Booties {Similar Here, Here, and Here}

My Trader Joes Must Haves

Ok guys, I have finally rounded up all of my favorite Trader Joe's products that I get EVERY time I go. I definitely go to Trader Joe's at least once a week. Please tell me i'm not the only one! Haha!

Sweetened Dried Lemon & Orange Slices
These are the perfect little topper for a cocktail! They look cute and they taste delicious. Keep them in the fridge to have on hand for girls nights in!

'Gone Bananas' Dark Chocolate Covered Banana Slices
The perfect little treat to kill that sweet tooth! I haven't tried the strawberry one yet, but I bet it's just as good. Who doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries?!

If you don't know about dolmas, do yourself a favor.. put your shoes on, get in your car, and drive down to Trader Joe's right now and get like 5 cans. These little bundles of heaven are rice rolled in grape leaves. Trust me on this. 4 of them are only 140 calories. The perfect snack or lunch for a vegan or vegetarian!

Rosemary Italian Style Crackers
I used to HATE rosemary.. until I tried these crackers. They are the perfect hint of rosemary and salt. Pair these with the cheese below with some wine and you have a great snack for girls night. This has actually been my dinner many of nights!

Tapas Sampler Cheese
I love that you get three different kinds of cheese in one back. And they all are great cheese! I'll use these on crackers, sandwiches, and more.

Pizza Dough
You can't beat amazing, pre-made, pizza dough for $1.19!! No explanation needed.

Perfect Bars
I love Perfect Bars! I could eat one a day. This is the cheapest price I've found. I've purchased the bulk pack from Costco but I'm not a fan of one of the flavors, and it doesn't include the dark chocolate chip peanut butter which is my favorite.

Yellow Jackfruit Curry With Jasmine Rice
Such a yummy vegetarian/vegan option! And, with no soy! That is super hard to find! I always have one on hand in case I forget my lunch or need a quick dinner option.

Channa Masala
Also a great vegetarian/vegan option. This is also really good with the above yellow jackfruit curry!

Kung Pao Tempura Cauliflower
So. Good! Over a little brown rice and broccoli, its a great quick dinner option. Only down side is that it doesn't reheat well so be prepared to eat all of it.

Chocolate Coconut Almonds
I just got these on my last Trader Joe's run after seeing them on Somewhere Lately's Inststories. They are addicting!! But if you like coconut, you'll love them!

Vegetable Masala Burger
These are always in my freezer. I actually made one for dinner last night. I throw it in my convection oven, and while it cooks I get a bed of lettuce ready, and half an avocado. Right before its crispy enough I'll throw some cheese on it in the oven and let it melt. Then I'll put it all together and top it with some Goddess dressing (also at Trader Joe's).

Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask
I love this!! It makes my hair so hydrated and conditioned. I'll put it on in the shower and leave it on while I shave and do my thing.

Honey Mango Shaving Cream
I was reluctant to try this at first. I didn't know if I would like a cream because I'm so used to a lather like regular shaving cream gives you. But to my surprise, I'm now addicted. It leaves my legs feeling moisturized!

What are your favorite Trader Joe's products?! Leave me a comment on my latest Instagram. I feel like there are still so many products that I haven't tried yet.

Apple Picking

Today was my FIRST time apple picking.. can you believe it?!
I get to check that off of my 'Autumn To-Do List'!
We went to the cutest little apple orchard, Leonard Orchard. The weather was perfect! We filled our bucket and it was only $3! I highly recommend checking it out.
So many apple treats are going to be made. Starting with my favorite, caramel apples. I love to freeze a candy bar and then crush it up and roll the caramel apple in it.
I'm sure you will be seeing lots of treats real soon on my Instastories!

Jack-O-Lantern Hand Pies

This recipe is for all you moms out there! Its quick, easy, sooo cute, and THREE ingredients!
Not to mention delicious.. these cute little guys didn't even last 24 hours. Personally, I like to have one still warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There's something about the hot and the cold together that I just love!
Keep scrolling for the recipe..

1 package pie dough (2 sheets)
1 can pie filling (You can use any flavor! I did apple)

Pumpkin cookie cutter

2. When pie dough is thawed, unroll and cut out 6 pumpkins per roll, 12 total.

4. On the other 6 pumpkins, cut faces to make Jack-O-Lanterns then place on top of the pie dough and use a fork around the entire pumpkin to squish together top and bottom dough.

6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until pumpkins are golden brown.
